String theory quarks
WebGeneration (particle physics) In particle physics, a generation or family is a division of the elementary particles. Between generations, particles differ by their flavour quantum number and mass, but their electric and strong interactions are identical. There are three generations according to the Standard Model of particle physics. WebThe standard mode considers quarks and leptons as elementary point particles with no constituents. String theory considers them as vibrating strings, again with no internal constituents. Everything else you mentioned is essentially only hypothetical speculation and not a true constructive serious physics theory that can make predictions. – FrankH

WebFeb 13, 2024 · A string theory initially was before it became a theory of quantum gravity or potentially a theory of everything, people advertised it was originally invented to be a theory about what we call strongly interacting particles. WebWhile nature of forces between quarks is known, direct computation of masses and decay rates of various particles requires better understanding of the theory at strong coupling, and significant progress in this direction has been happening over the last 30 years. ... WebJun 7, 2024 · String theory provides a theoretical framework in which all particles, from photons to quarks, are one-dimensional strings as opposed to zero-dimensional points. If a version of string theory were found that held up in all contexts, it would serve as a single mathematical model for describing the nature of the universe—a “theory of ...
One approach to formulating string theory and studying its properties is provided by the anti-de Sitter/conformal field theory (AdS/CFT) correspondence. This is a theoretical result which implies that string theory is in some cases equivalent to a quantum field theory. In addition to providing insights into the mathematical structure of string theory, the AdS/CFT correspondence has she… teaching little fingers to play christmasWebJul 22, 2015 · String theory is a possible way to unify gravity and quantum mechanics.
